Possum the Devourer

This entry refers to the singular mutated possum infamously found within The Pit. Possum the Devourer stands as being the worst mutation to be discovered in The Pit. It has an insatiable hunger that causes it to consume anything that isn't bolted to the ground. Its primary diet consists of Pit Rattys, Pit Battys, and the Reanimateds.

When Possum was discovered, there were attempts to contain it in a steel cage, hoping it would starve to death. However it turns out that steel snaps in Possum's maw as if it were gnawing on sticks. It quickly became clear that it would be impossible to contain Possum. All they could do is hope it wouldn't leave The Pit.

But then sightings of Possum in the Nilgarf Sewers starting popping up. Sooner or later, Possum will show itself to the surface, and all we can hope is that it's afraid of its own shadow. The worst part of all of this is that there's more mutations worse than Possum the Devourer deep below The Pit... Possum is just a prelude to the true nightmare.
