It can take a Chad centuries until they mature into an Elder Chad. Not a single living Elder Chad was born from the current ongoing Shrooming Season, meaning every living Elder Chad is thousands of years old. Regular Chads typically have a sibling-like relationship with most other Shrooms, but Elder Chads take on a father-figure role.

Mushtowners have no need to worry about an Elder Chad unless they actively terrorize the Shrooms. That's where the Mushroom Research Base becomes a problem. Elder Chads spend most of their time in a deep slumber, but they're awoken whenever the mushroom researchers attempt to retrieve a living Baby Shroom specimen.

Elder Chads have honed their skills, and vowed to use their strength to defend any Shroom that's weaker than they are. Elder Chads remain as one of the greatest threats to the mushroom researchers. The death of an Elder Chad causes great distress amongst the Shrooms, allowing the researchers a chance to get away with their specimen.
